የፌዴራል ዋና ኦዲተር መ/ቤት የኦዲት ሪፖርቶችን መሠረት አድርገው በግኝቶች ላይ የምርመራ ጋዜጠኝነት ለሚሰሩ የኢትዮጵያ ብሮድ ካስቲንግ ኮርፖሬሽን የሚዲያ ባለሙያዎች በኦዲት አሠራር ዙሪያ የአንድ ቀን ስልጠና ሰጠ፡፡
መስከረም 20 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም በአዲስ አበባ የተካሄደው ስልጠና በአውሮፓ ህብረት (EU) ድጋፍ የተሰጠ ሲሆን የመ/ቤቱ አሰልጣኝ ባለሙያዎች ስልጠናውን አቅርበዋል፡፡
ስልጠናው የኦዲት ምነትን እና አለም አቀፍ የኦዲት ተቋማትን አወቃቀር እንዲሁም በሂሳብና ህጋዊነት (Financial & Compliance) እና በክዋኔ (Performance) ኦዲቶች ዙሪያ ያሉ የአሠራር ስርዓቶችን እና ሂደቶችን እንዲሁም እንደ አንድ ቁልፍ ባለድርሻ አካል የኦዲት ውጤቶችን ለህረተሰቡ የሚያደርሰው የሚዲያ አካል በኦዲት አሠራር ላይ ሊኖረው የሚገባውን ሚና በጥልቀት የዳሰሰ ነው፡፡
በስልጠናው ላይ የተገኙት የፌዴራል ዋና ኦዲተር ክብርት ወ/ሮ መሠረት ዳምጤ ስልጠናው መ/ቤቱ የሚያመነጫቸውን የኦዲት ሪፖርቶች መሠረት በማድረግ እና መሠረታዊ ግኝቶች የታዩባቸውን ኦዲት ተደራጊ ተቋማት በጥልቀት በመመርመር ተጨማሪ መረጃዎችን ለህብረተሰቡ በማቅረብ በኩል ቀዳሚ ሚና ላላቸው የምርመራ የሚዲያ አካላት ስለ ኦዲቱ አሠራር በቂ ግንዛቤ ከመስጠት አንፃር ፋይዳው የጎላ ነው ብለዋል፡፡
የሚዲያ ተደራሽ የሆነው የህብረተሰብ ክፍል በኦዲትና ኦዲት ሪፖርቶች እንዲሁም ውጤቶች ዙሪያ የሚያነሳቸውን ጥያቄዎች በማንሳት ሰፊ የውይይት ተሳትፎ ያደረጉት ሰልጣኝ የሚዲያ ባለሙያዎች ላነሷቸው ጥያቄዎች የፌዴራል ዋና ኦዲተር ክብርት ወ/ሮ መሠረት ዳምጤ እና ም/ዋና ኦዲተር ክቡር አቶ አበራ ታደሠ ሰፊ ገለጻና ማብራሪያ የሰጡ ሲሆን ተሳታፊዎች በኦዲት አሠራር ላይ የተሰጠው ስልጠና ጠቃሚ ግንዛቤ ያገኙበት መሆኑን ገልጸዋል፡፡
OFAG Trains Investigative Media Experts on Auditing
The Office of the Federal Auditor General (OFAG) provided training to investigative journalists gathered from the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC).
In one day training supported by the European Union (EU), about twelve journalists were participated to gain better understanding on OFAG legal mandates, working scope, auditing professionalism and duties.
In addition to describing detail and separate procedures, functions and standards of financial, compliance, and performance audits in OFAG, trainers from OFAG Training department delivered basic concepts on internationally accepted structures of audit institutions in relation to different government structures, and also media roles on auditing practices.
The Federal Auditor General H.E Mrs. Meseret Damtie attended the training and highlighted the significance of the training particularly for investigative media experts in order to assure public and institutional transparency and accountability by involving the media as primary and key stakeholders.
Emphasizing basic contributions of investigative media, the Auditor General pointed out that the media, particularly investigative media that work on audit findings, play important role in the auditing processes to address the causes and ultimate results of investigated auditing issues to the public.
For questions and ideas raised from the participants during the discussions, the Auditor General HE Mrs. Meseret Damtie and Deputy Auditor General Mr. Abera Tadesse provided a wide range of additional clarifications.
