የደቡባዊ አፍሪካ ልማት ማህበረሰብ የህዝብ ፋይናንስ ኮሚቴዎች ድርጅት (SADCOPAC) 17ኛው አመታዊ ኮንፈረንስ እና 21ኛው አመታዊ ጠቅላላ ጉባኤ “የዘላቂ ልማት ቁጥጥርን ማጠናከር እና የፓርላማ አባላት በሕዝብ የፋይናንስ አስተዳደር ውስጥ ያላቸውን ተሳትፎ ማሳደግ“ በሚል መሪ ቃል በማሴሩ፣ ሌሶቶ ከጥቅምት 17-21/2018 ዓ.ም ተካሂዷል፡፡
በጉባኤው በህዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤት የመንግስት ወጪ አስተዳደርና ቁጥጥር ጉዳዮች ቋሚ ኮሚቴ ሰብሳቢ የተከበሩ የሺመቤት ደምሴ (ዶ/ር) እና የቋሚ ኮሚቴው ምክትል ሰብሳቢ የተከበሩ ወ/ሮ አራሬ ሞሲሳ እንዲሁም የፌዴራል ዋና ኦዲተር መ/ቤት ምክትል ዋና ኦዲተር ክቡር አቶ አበራ ታደሰ ኢትዮጵያን በመወከል ተሳትፈዋል፡፡
የልዑካን ቡድኑ ተሳትፎ የሕዝብ ሀብት ቁጥጥርን በማጠናከር፣ የመንግስት ተጠያቂነትን በማሳደግ እና በፋይናንሺያል አስተዳደር ውስጥ የሀገራት የትብበር ተነሳሽነቶችን በመደገፍ ረገድ ኢትዮጵያ ያላትን ቁርጠኝነት የሚያሳይ መሆኑ ታውቋል፡፡
ከዚህም ሌላ ጉባኤው በመንግስት የፋይናንስ አስተዳደር ውስጥ የሃገራትን ትብብር ለማጎልበት እና የፓርላማ ቁጥጥር በዘላቂ ልማት ውስጥ ያለውን ሚና ለማጠናከር ቁልፍ መድረክ ሆኖ የሚያገለግል መሆኑ ተገልጿል፡፡
ጉባኤው ከተለያዩ የአፍሪካ ሃገራት የተውጣጡ የሕግ አውጪዎች፣ ኦዲተሮች እና የልማት አጋሮች ምርጥ ተሞክሮዎቻቸውንና ልምዶቻቸውን የተለዋወጡበት ሲሆን በደቡባዊ አፍሪካ ልማት ማህበረሰብ (SADC) መካከል ተቋማዊ ማዕቀፎችን ለማጠናከር እና መልካም አስተዳደርን ለማስፈን የሚረዳ መሆኑም ታውቋል፡፡

The 17th Annual Conference and 21st Annual General Assembly of the Southern African Development Community Organization of Public Accounts Committees (SADCOPAC) held in Maseru, Lesotho, under the theme “Strengthening Oversight for Sustainable Development; Enhancing Parliamentary Engagement in Public Financial Management.”
The gathering serve as a key platform for fostering regional collaboration in public financial management and reinforcing the role of parliamentary oversight in sustainable development, information indicated.
The Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Public Accounts Standing Committee of the House of People’s Representatives, Hon. Yeshiemebet_Demissie and Hon. Arare_Mosisa, respectively, along with H.E. Abera Tadesse, Deputy Auditor General, the Office of the Federal Auditor General-OFAG participated in the conference by representing Ethiopia as delegations,
and their partaking underscores Ethiopia’s commitment to strengthening oversight, enhancing accountability, and supporting regional initiatives in fiscal governance.
Parliamentarians, Legislators, Auditors, and Development Partners from across the SADC region gathered in the meeting and exchanged their best practices to strengthen the role of Public Accounts Committees in ensuring fiscal accountability.
The event was concluded with fundamental resolutions that enhance institutional frameworks and foster regional cooperation in promoting good governance and sustainable development.
